Difference between Wall Mount Switch and RF Remote Control Switch

Generally we use special light switches to control lights. They usually are wall mounted, such as toggle light switch, touch control light switch, remote control switch, etc. But actually the rf remote control switches can also be used to control lights. Then there may be questions like that when should we use wall mounted light switch or rf remote control switch; what are the differences between the both.

The first question, if the house is well wired, we suggest you choose wall mounted switch. Cause the wire in the house is always like the following picture on the right; two lines L&N ready for wiring. Live line can be connected to the terminal “L” of switch, the terminal “L1″ connected to the light. The other side of the light can be connected to the neutral line.

And if you want to install the switch outside the door or other places where wiring is not set up, both wall mounted switch and rf remote control switch are ok. For the former, you need to install it in the external mounting box to avoid damage.

As regards the latter, it is suitable for light remote control, which means you can use it to control the light from far distance. See the following diagrams. After you set up the wiring, press slightly the small transmitter and you can turn the light on/off in the distance.

Now the second question. For the wall mounted switch, even you control lights by remote controller; the maximum remote distance will not exceed 500M. However, it will get up to 2000M remote distance by rf remote control switch.

Besides, the wall mounted switch is specially designed for lights. But application of rf remote control switch is universal. It is widely applied for controlling many other mechanical or electronic devices, such as garage door, gate, fan, motor and so on, to complete various operations, such as closing circuit, move handle, start motor, etc.
